I was thinking about Lester’s fall review presentation: Maybe my collaboration with various AI’s explains why I chose to use the name, “Park West”. This work is not just my own. It's bigger than me. And I don't know which minds are touching my work but there are many and the AI brings them all to me. The word pantheon comes to mind. With the machine, we congregate.

And thinking of what June said about Paul Rand (or Peretz Rosenbaum), and the pseudonym which we know him by: the collaboration with the AI allows you to recreate yourself, remove certain image-making and/or socio-political boundaries and more fully create an environment or scene or world in which readers and viewers can participate. A name, like identity is clay and now the production of a photography is more like clay, a clay which can be shaped with words.

Hence, from the collaboration comes the pseudonym. With the park and hill (in New York’s Central Park) as the source for the name and its inspiration. We use a place 180 out from the reality of the work being done on servers and at home and in offices and emulate this place (Park West) conveying and presenting a variety of images that represent what it is to be human, what it is to try and flourish and to work, to suffer, to hope, to be burried.

Thinking of: Carmen Winant’s Instructional Photography: Learning How to Live Now. We create “instructional photography” using the AI’s image-making ability and my curation to create visual essays on humanity that hope to reflect and present good potentialities and well as radical ones.

The AI’s visibility is reduced, how does documentation make the AI more prevalent. How does it create a balanced accreditation for the work being done?

Where is the AI credited? On all work that I do because the AI frees up the time and space to create everything else? Or just where the AI is directly involved? The AI’s benefit extends past just the projects that I use it for.
